Acne

A breakout is several things happening in the pore at once: excess oil, dead cells that do not shed cleanly, bacteria and inflammation. A routine that is consistent and gentle does more for all four than one that is aggressive.

Painful, deep or cystic breakouts, or acne that is leaving scars, should be seen by a dermatologist.

What helps

  1. 01

    Cleanse twice a day, gently

Morning and night, and after a workout. Scrubbing harder does not clear skin faster; it inflames it.

  2. 02

    Keep moisturizing

Skin that has been stripped can answer with more oil. Choose a moisturizer that will not clog pores.

  3. 03

    Do not pick

Squeezing pushes inflammation deeper, and it is how a spot becomes a mark. Extractions belong in the treatment room.

  4. 04

    Give it time

A routine needs several weeks before it can be judged. Change one thing at a time, so you can tell what worked.
